Cremation Solutions is proud to offer fingerprint jewelry! This is an excellent way to turn a loved one's fingerprint into a keepsake that is both elegant and timeless. Unlike many of our products at Cremation Solutions, our fingerprint jewelry is not necessarily associated with death. In fact, if you are looking for a unique wedding band, what's better than one featuring your spouse’s fingerprint?

Through a combination of modern technology and traditional craftsmanship, our highly skilled jewelers are able to transpose any fingerprint onto a wide selection of pendants, rings and earrings. As soon as we receive the print, our designers create a digital image of it. Our artist will then consider the print aesthetically and focus on the most interesting portion of it. This ensures that your fingerprint jewelry will have good texture and a distinct swirl pattern. Once this is done, the jeweler uses a computer assisted manufacturing device to create a wax mold of the image, which is known as the pattern. Once the mold is produced, our artist uses a lost wax casting method to produce the desired piece of fingerprint jewelry. More specifically, the pattern is filled with plaster (called the investment) and left to set. Once the investment is set, the wax is removed. Next, melted precious metal is forced into the investment with a centrifuge, creating the piece of fingerprint jewelry. Finally, our jeweler cleans up and finishes the piece by filing and polishing it.

How do I get stated designing my fingerprint jewelry?
Although the process may seem quite complex, your end of the bargain is simple. The first step is to find a design that is appealing to you and order it through our website (http://www.cremationsolutions.com/Fingerprint-Jewelry-c38.html). The second step is to obtain a good copy of the fingerprint. During the checkout process, you will be asked if you already have the prints or if you need an ink kit (which we will gladly provide you with). If you are rushed for time and cannot wait for us to send you the ink kit, it is possible to make the prints without one by following these instructions. You should use a thumb print for your jewelry, as your thumb tends to have the most distinctive finger print.  Select the area of the thumb that is the most interesting. It is generally the area on the pad of the thumb where the ridges swirl. This is the area you will want to ink. Practice making prints on any blank white sheet of paper. Lightly touch the ink pad surface twice and then press downward on the paper. Use more of a tapping motion than a rolling one. When jewelry is made from a fingerprint we can only make it as good as the fingerprint sample you give us, so be sure to capture a nice clear print. If your first attempt is smudged or too light, then try again. We want to make the finest piece of keepsake jewelry you can cherish for life.
After you have made a number of “practice prints” and feel confident that you have mastered the technique, place five good fingerprints along the bottom of plain piece of white paper or cardstock. Artisans will select the clearest portion of the best fingerprint for casting. The fingerprint jewelry will be a precise replica of the provided thumb print.
To clean your hands afterward, we recommend a wet paper towel, possibly in conjunction with a drop of hand cream that contains alcohol Mail the original prints (NOT A PHOTO COPY) to:
