Cremation Scattering Sea Pod

The Sea Pod scattering & living memorial system was designed with three functions in mind. The first function is to act as a secure receptacle for the ashes of the deceased. The second function is to act as a mini marine habitat for ocean critters.  A true living memorial where life goes on. The the third is to make this process of scattering ashes at sea or in a lake as simple as possible for family and friends.

After the first five minutes of resting on the ocean floor, the cremation Sea Pod begins the transformation from a cremation um into a marine habitat. The water soluble bag dissolves and the current begins to wash the ashes out of the sea pod and onto the ocean floor leaving a habitat for a variety of ocean life. In a few days algae will begin growing on it and soon various forms of marine life will be living in and around the life supporting habitat.

The cremation Sea Pod System comes with everything you need to help make your final tribute as easy and memorable as possible. Family and friends can also write messages on top of the pod as part of the scattering ceremony. Once you decide on a scattering location, you are ready to lower the pod into the ocean, the boat captain can give you the exact GPS coordinates so you’ll know right where it is located. In the future, should anyone else like to be placed at the same location, you can give those coordinates to your boat captain and the boat can be brought to that same spot.
