Cremation Glass Keepsake Information

13.jpgHow does the ordering process work? To order, you first select your style of orb, the size either small or large. Small cremation urn glass measures 2-3 inches tall and 2-3 inches in diameter and weighs 1-2 lbs. Large cremation urn glass measures 3-5 inches tall and 3-4 inches in diameter and weighs 2-4 lbs. Both the large and small glass urns require ONE scoop (1/2 tsp.) per piece. For instance, if you order three orbs, include three scoops. Any unused remains will be shipped back to you with your final order.

The Embrace Orb, The Galaxy Orb, The Swirl Orb, and The Keepsake Heart give you the option of choosing TWO colors for the inside of the cremation urn Glass. Choose from Eternal Purple, Ocean Blue, Sky Blue, Seafoam Aqua, Forever Green, Perfect Pink, Antique Red, Radiant Orange, Everlasting Gold, Daffodil Yellow, Apricot/Marmalade, Mystic Black, Slate Grey, Aged Bronze, Ivory White, or Crystal Clear.

colors.jpgYou have the option of including a wrap on your cremation urn glass and deciding it's color. The wrap is a gather of glass that is stretched around the cremation urn glass globe while both pieces are hot. Wraps are permanently fused to your cremation urn glass globe and cannot be removed. You may choose your wrap color from the colors available for the glass itself. We suggest you choose a complimentary but contrasting color so that your wrap stands out.

Finally, you have the choice of two mahogany stands. Each Honduras Mahogany Stand is crafted ourselves, from solid Honduras mahogany. Hand sanded and finished with Man-O'War Mono-Urethane Spar Varnish, its finish will last for years. Honduras Mahogany Stand measures (w)5.5" x (d)5.5" x (h)2.5" and includes (3) lines of engraving. These bases are recommended for our Large Cremation Urn Glass Globe.

While we cannot verify that the Spanish Mahogany Stands are actually "Spanish" Mahogany, we do know that they have the correct coloration, and are quite beautiful. Spanish Mahogany Stand measures (w)3.5" x (d)3.5" x (h)1.5" and includes (2) lines of engraving. They have a Satin finish and work well with a Small Cremation Urn Glass globe. Each base has a cluster of two LED lights in the center to provide pure white light.

A Welcome kit contains the following: 1 sterile, locking vial for the ashes, pre-labeled w/ unique identifying information. The vial that we use is roughly 1.5 inches in diameter and 2.5 inches tall.

  • 1 sterile 1/2 tsp. scoop for handling ashes and provides enough for ONE cremation urn glass Globe.
  • 1 relabeled, pre addressed box used to ship back to us.
  • Easy to follow instructions.

30.jpgAre the cremated remains visible in the glass or used during the hand-blowing creation? Yes. The streaks of white that you see in all of the pictures are actual remains. They are infused within the layers of glass that create cremation run glass.

Is there a place on the globe where a name or date can be etched in? Yes. The bottom of the globe there is a flat polished surface. There is just about enough room for initials and a date. To fit more text, such as a personalized message, or a full name and date, we recommend adding a Mahogany stand with an engraved plaque.

Is the stand necessary for the cremation urn glass globe to sit upright? Are the two connected? No. Cremation Urn Glass globes will stand by itself without the wooden stand. The stand is not connected to the cremation urn glass globe, but provides white LED light from below and a place for a personalized plaque.

17.jpgHow is a cremation urn glass globe made? The process of creating your Cremation Glass™ is quite simple. Once we receive the cremains, we begin to create your Cremation Urn Glass Globe. With the color and design options labeled on the vial, we lay out the remains and colored glass in patterns and infuse them between the second and third layers or "gathers" of glass. After the fourth gather, the piece is ready for final shaping and the adding of an optional footing or wrap. The wrap goes on HOT and is fused to the outside of the piece, becoming one with the cremation Glass™. At this point, the Cremation Glass™ is still attached to the "blow pipe" and must be broken off. This leaves an uneven, sharp edge that is polished away completely after the piece fully cools a few days later.

How do we know our loved one's remains are safe? All Cremation Urn Glass Globes orders are tracked from the time that they leave your hands at the post office, until the time that the final piece returns to you. USPS Registered mail provides the highest level of security available for shipping ashes. USPS provides shipment tracking, and the vial label provides order tracking on our end. Records of each order are kept in our company database and accompany each order during the entire creation of your Cremation Urn Glass Globe. Any unused cremation ashes will be returned with your order in its original vial. The caution we will employ in this process will equal the care and consideration devoted to the entire procedure - from our first contact to the actual sculpting to the delivery of your keepsake - ensuring that you, your loved one, and the memorial in their honor are treated with the utmost respect.
